Introduction
This privacy policy describes how Dual N-Back (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles information in connection with your use of our mobile application. Dual N-Back is published by Overtron Digital Ltd, which is the data controller for the purposes described here.
Summary
- Your game history, statistics and settings stay on your device.
- If you sign in to Google Play Games, your daily free-session count is saved to your Google account so the limit works across devices.
- Free users see ads from Google AdMob. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland we ask for your consent before ads use your data, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- Premium users see no ads.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run our own servers.
Information Stored on Your Device
- Game session statistics and scores
- Settings and preferences (including the optional daily reminder time)
- Daily session usage counts and your training streak
- Premium purchase status (managed by Google Play)
We do not have access to this information. It is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob (advertising)
- Purpose: Shows ads to free users — a full-screen ad after some games, and an optional video you can choose to watch for an extra free session.
- Data handled by Google: device identifiers including the Android advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, information about ad interactions, and diagnostic data such as crash and performance information.
- Consent: In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before ads use your data. You can choose “Do not consent”, and change your decision later in Settings → Privacy choices.
- Your controls: You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device’s Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Google Play Games Services
- Purpose: Optional sign-in, used to keep your daily free-session count in sync across your devices.
- Data handled: Your Play Games profile and a small saved-game file containing the number of sessions used today. This is stored in your Google account by Google; we do not receive your account details.
- Without sign-in: the app works normally and keeps the count on your device only.
Google Play Billing
- Purpose: Processes the one-time premium upgrade.
- Data handled: Purchase transaction data, managed entirely by Google. We do not receive or store payment information.

Permissions
- INTERNET / network state: Needed for ads, Play Games sign-in and purchases.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): Used by Google AdMob as described above.
- Notifications: Only requested if you turn on the optional daily reminder. The reminder is scheduled on your device.
- VIBRATE: Haptic feedback when you press the response buttons.
Children’s Privacy
Dual N-Back is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Data Retention and Security
Data on your device is kept until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Data handled by Google is kept according to Google’s policies. All network communication uses encryption in transit.
Your Rights
- Access: Your game data is visible in the app’s Statistics screen.
- Deletion: Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes everything stored on your device. Play Games data can be managed in your Google account.
- Ads consent: Change or withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- If you are in the UK or EEA you may also contact us about your data protection rights, or complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
